Kerri Hojem

Owner

I began my journey in the fitness industry in 2011. Starting as a client at Next Generation and Personal Training, I quickly realized I had found my passion. I want to help others live a healthier lifestyle and become the best version of them selves. I got my certification in personal training and group fitness instruction in 2012. January 1, 2020 I took over ownership of NGPT & Fitness and am excited to serve the community in leading others into a life style that will help them live a long and healthy life.

Marcey Tidwell

Instructor

Marcey began work in health care 33 years ago with an early and lasting interest in nutrition. She never really enjoyed exercise until joining NGPT in January 2011 made it fun to be part of a community. She soon became a nutrition accountability coach, eventually helping 400ish clients through bootcamp programs. She views coaching as an extension of her nursing career, promoting health and wellness through the belief that food and exercise are medicine.

Jessica  Merkel

Lauren Rapacki Keenan

Instructor

I’m Lauren! I’m a certified spinning instructor and have been leading on the bike at Next Generation (on and off) since 2013. During the weekdays, I am a District Instructional Coach in MCCSC, with a focus on math education supports pk-12. In the evenings, I am also an adjunct instructor/lecturer that teaches math methods and math content courses for a few different universities throughout the country. When I’m not instructing on and off the bike, I’m focused on my role as mom to my two young boys. I love cycling but cycling is always better with friends and fun music—so come join me on Sunday mornings at 8am or for the occasional Friday night special, and experience the ride of your life.

Michael Tidwell

Instructor

A sense of adventure drives Michael. A veteran obstacle course racer; he has completed more races than can be easily counted in every corner of the country. When he is not racing, he's planning his next hiking trip to the Rocky Mountains or the deserts of the Southwest. "At 48, my fitness goals are all about longevity and durability." Mike has been with NGPT since 2011, first as a client and later as a coach. "I wouldn't consider myself a natural athlete. I am naturally a nerd, but I have persistence and patience. I listen to my coaches and focus on technique. I don't take myself too seriously, and I try to always have fun."

Erin Moore

Instuctor

Erin is a personal trainer and fitness instructor and has been with NGPT since 2012. Her passion is for all things fitness, but especially weightlifting. Two of her favorites are the deadlift and hang clean. While working at NGPT she appreciates the opportunity to come alongside others during their fitness journey. She loves seeing the potential in her clients and encouraging them to reach for it. She is inspired by the clients who show up daily despite setbacks, injury, and age; and continue to press toward their health goals. She is a proud undergrad and graduate school alumni of Indiana University and enjoys time with her husband and 3 children when not at the gym.

Sabra Halstead

Instructor

Hi everyone! My name is Sabra Halstead and I am a personal trainer at NGPT. I started out as a client in 2012 when my wife and I were trying to find a new gym in town where we would feel comfortable to continue our fitness journey. We found that at NGPT and the community within the gym. I started coaching at NGPT in 2013 while continuing to work at my full time job as a Veterinary Technician before eventually switching to fitness as my full time job. Turns out I really love to make people do burpees, who knew! I have experience training people of all ages and abilities and have been ACE Certified since 2017. I think my favorite thing about being a personal trainer is teaching women to lift weights. Watching someone become empowered and their confidence grow because they can do a Deadlift (with proper form of course) is pretty awesome!

Caroline Dwyer

Instructor

Caroline teaches yoga classes at NGPT, and has been part of the NGPT community since 2012. She takes an inclusive approach to yoga, and strives to create classes that are accessible for everyone. Her classes are in the vinyasa tradition of yoga, which focuses on linking breath with movement. Originally from Oklahoma, Caroline moved to Bloomington in 2010 with her family and works in communications at IU.

Lauren Headley

Instructor

Lauren joined NGPT as a client in July 2010 after a lifetime battle with weight. After losing over 100 lbs, she began serving as a nutrition accountability coach in 2011, recipe blogging for the community in 2012, and teaching indoor cycling classes in 2017. At NGPT, Lauren found a family where she could workout with tons of support and no judgment, a return to her teaching roots while helping others reach their goals through nutrition and healthful cooking, and the thrill of kicking booty on the bikes! In addition to cycling her favorite workouts involve boxing - either punching our equipment or sparring with an instructor. Lauren is excited to get back to nutrition coaching with our May bootcamp - "My greatest joy is paying it forward, seeing new clients 'get it' - committing to a healthier lifestyle, seeing the results, and feeling amazing pride in themselves." Outside of the gym, Lauren works at IU's Luddy School and loves on her dog, Kolbi.

Email us at help@wemeltyou.com and we can make the best class recommendations for you. Also, each of our classes are designed with beginners in mind. For example: all of our exercises can be modified depending on your fitness experience, and our instructors are always on hand to demo proper form, make suggestions, or give alternate exercises. We also offer personal training. You can meet one on one with a trainer to learn proper form and technique in a private setting, before jumping into group classes.
